  • Family: Pine

  • Habit: Pyramidal
  • Culture:

Requires a deep rich soil that is neutral to acid. Full sun to partial shade.

  • Notes:

A beautiful native pine which grows to very large scale developing wonderful character with age. Definitely not a plant for the small scale or urban landscape. Is susceptible to damage from air pollution (particularly ozone and sulfur dioxide).

  • Pruning:

Pine, spruce and fir trees should not be pruned as they are most beautiful when allowed to develop their natural form. It is also important to locate these trees on a site with adequate space so that pruning will not be required to keep them from crowding buildings, walkways, etc.
