- Plant Type: Shrub: Medium
- Scientific Name: Ligustrum vulgare 'Cheyenne'
- Family: Privet
- Zone: 4
- Plant Size: 8-12'
- Bloom Color: Not Applicable
- Habit: Upright
- Culture:
Very adaptable. Tolerates dry conditions. Full sun to partial shade.
- Notes:
A hardy selection that will survive unharmed through most winters in zone 4. It responds well to shearing and like the amur privet has ornamental merit only as a trimmed hedge plant.
- Pruning:
Hedges should be trimmed wider at the base to allow adequate light to the lower branches which will keep the hedge looking full. Hedges may be trimmed from spring to mid-July. If a hedge becomes overgrown and woody it may be renewed by cutting the entire plant to near the ground level in late fall or early spring.
