    Adaptable. Should be cultured as a dieback shrub in the upper Midwest by cutting to near ground level in early spring. Full sun to light shade.

    Small pink flowers in July are followed by dazzling purple berries in fall.

    Annually, cut the entire plant back to near ground level. This type of pruning should be done when the plant is dormant, preferably in early spring.
